This presentation will explain IEEE’s levels of plagiarism, including recent revisions to policy, and discuss how EICs can identify, assess, and address incidents. It will cover topics such as multiple submission and publication, paraphrasing, and verbatim copying, and provide guidance for adjudicating different levels in a manner consistent across IEEE. EICs will learn best practices for implementing IEEE plagiarism policies, interpreting results from iThenticate, and ensuring due process and confidentiality during investigations.
